Pumpkin carving and Halloween movie night.

Happy Halloween! I always enjoyed Halloween when I was a little kid: I loved getting dressed up. In recent years too, Halloween has been one of my favourite holidays, with Halloween parties and home decor, and also marking mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary! I’ve carved two pumpkins over the last couple of days, so I thought I would share those with you, and also a list of my top Halloween movies for you if you’re planning a cosy night in tonight!

Top Halloween & blankets movies:

  • Any of the Harry Potter films- magic, magic, magic (There’s a troll in the dungeon)
  • The Witches- based on the Roald Dahl book, this was one of the first ‘spooky’ films that I watched as a child, and can definitely pass as a nod to Halloween
  • Hocus Pocus- how could I write this list without it?
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas- one of my favourite movies of all time, combining both Halloween and Christmas

Of course there are many more renowned Halloween movies out there, such as Halloween Town and the Addams Family, to which you can watch tonight with festive snacks and a hot drink.

I carved two pumpkins this year: one for my house, and one for my boyfriend’s, Jamie. Pinterest is a great place to find inspiration for your pumpkin carving design, and I found mine a month in advance, planning to change a few of the details to make it my own. Both pumpkins happen to be cat themed this year (my family loves cats so how could I do anything different for them). The first one is a silhouette surrounded by stars, and the second one is a classic portrait.
